Support for Karl & Vickie Schuman
On Saturday night, February 28, Karl Schuman of Sylvan Springs was struck by a car while walking as a pedestrian. The day after the accident, Karl has already undergone several surgeries, with many more still ahead of him. The road to recovery will be long and uncertain.
Karl and his wife, Vickie, live on Social Security income. To help make ends meet, Karl worked by sitting with an elderly individual — income he is now unable to earn due to this devastating accident.
Vickie has always been a caregiver. She raised her grandchildren and is currently caring for her daughter, who was shot two years ago and remains paralyzed and disabled. Now, while supporting her daughter, she is also spending her days going back and forth to the hospital to be by Karl’s side.
The expenses are already adding up — hospital trips, gas, parking fees, meals away from home, and regular household bills — all while losing Karl’s supplemental income.
If you feel led to help, any amount would be deeply appreciated and will make a difference for this family during this difficult time. If you are unable to donate, please keep Karl, Vickie, and their family in your prayers as they face the uncertain days ahead.
Thank you for your love and support. ❤️
