Hello, my name is Karl Andy Reviere. I am 66 years old and have been a house painter now for 33 years.
For 48 years I've had problems with my right shoulder. It started in high school while playing volleyball. I hit the ball very hard, and it knocked my shoulder out of socket. The P.E. teacher had to put it back in place. Over the next 6 months, it came out 3 more times and someone had to put it back in place. After that, it would go in and out on its own. After 2 years, I got tired of keeping count at 125 times. I eventually learned what I could and couldn't do and even did exercises to help strengthen the muscles around the joint, taught to me by a physical therapist. I can't remember the last time it came out of socket, but the chronic pain is now almost unbearable. And I need to keep working.
I've seen a doctor about a complete shoulder replacement and meet with him again to review a CT scan on May 6 to discuss options. From what I've read, the recovery time can be anywhere from 3-6 months. I'm asking for help simply to get through this time until I can get back to work and start earning money again.
- Thank you so much, and may God bless you for your generosity.
