Support Karl Kidd's Critical Recovery Journey
Donation protected
On behalf of the Kidd/Rowe family, I am establishing a Go Fund Me account to
help cover the varied costs for Karl Kidd during his recovery process such
as: rent on his home, utilities, and medical expenses. On Saturday July 20,
2024, Karl's brother, Isaiah became concerned when Karl was not responding
to text messages and would not answer his phone. After being unable to reach
Karl for an extended period of time, Isaiah decided to go to Karl's home to
check on him. Karl did not answer the door. Isaiah felt strongly that
something was wrong, so he broke into Karl's home. He found Karl
unresponsive in his room. 911 was called and Karl was taken to the hospital.
It was determined that Karl had several injuries, the most serious of which
is a significant skull fracture and brain bleed. Karl was transferred to
another hospital where he had emergency brain surgery around 10pm Saturday
night. Over time more information has been discovered as to how Karl came to
sustain such an array of injuries, some life-threatening. Karl was attacked
in the early morning hours of Friday, July 19th while with a friend. I will
not be discussing details regarding the attack on this Go Fund Me. Karl has
experienced many ups and downs since the surgery. As I write this on
Thursday, July 25th, he has yet to wake up. In the first couple days after
the surgery there were some promising signs of progress as Karl was
responsive to pain, pupils reacting to light, and he would occasionally open
the eye that's not injured on the side of his face that did not sustain
fractures. He even began to breathe on his own without assistance! Yesterday
Wednesday 24th, Karl took some steps backwards. He kept spiking a fever for
the majority of the day, reaching as high as 105.3. The medical staff
struggled to keep his fever down. The fever sent him into repeated
convulsions. He was no longer responsive to anything, no longer opening his
undamaged eye, and required some assistance to breathe. The doctors and
nurses tell us it is simply going to be a day-by-day situation for Karl at
this point. He has a long recovery journey ahead. The family is exhausted
and overwhelmed as can be expected. Anything you can contribute to help
lighten the load is appreciated more than I can express. Whether you can
contribute $5 or $50, it is all helpful and of great value to the family as
we navigate this difficult time. We are trusting our Almighty God with Karl
knowing nothing is too hard for Him! He knit Karl together in Ruth's womb
and we know that He loves Karl so much! We know it was a miracle that He led
Isaiah to find Karl, and we are believing in faith that God is not done with
Karl yet. Please keep Karl and the family in prayer! Thank you in advance
for your generous giving. May God bless richly all of you who give!
"Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full-pressed
down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into
your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back." Luke
