My name is Karis and I'm an aspiring writer-director. I've created a film called Rendezvous that tells a story of anxiety, perfection, and psychopathic tendencies spurred from love above all else. I want to tell this story because I want to explore the more psychological, mind-turning side of horror for my first big film. If my film can make someone think deeply, so much so that they are investigating their own relationship with this film, I’ve accomplished my goal.

This story specifically was born out of my own anxiety to have a perfect friend group that looked as if it had come out of one of those aesthetic Pinterest posts. I want to highlight the harm of such devotion and attachment, in this case, taken to the absolute extreme. For my career, I want to explore how horror can inform the world about real issues, while also being used as a form of escapism. Obviously, most people won't resort to such extreme measures to stay connected, but the dependency can still manifest in dangerous ways.
