Hi, my name is Korrynn, and I’m creating this fundraiser for my mom, Kari.

If you know my mom, you know she’s the kind of person who lights up a room. She’s loud in the best way: full of life, laughter, and compassion. She’s dedicated most of her life to teaching and caring for others, especially kids who needed someone in their corner.

This past year has turned her world upside down.

After years of building a life helping others, my mom suffered an injury while working that has completely disrupted her ability to work and support herself. At the time, she was juggling multiple jobs (including caregiving and substitute teaching) and had strong earning potential heading into the new school year.

That was all taken away in an instant.

While attempting to assist an elderly woman who had fallen, my mom severely injured her back. She was caretaking at the time during the summer, and it has entirely changed her whole life.

Since then, she has faced one challenge after another:

• She lost her ability to work consistently due to the injury

• She lost stable housing and experienced a period of homelessness

• She has been navigating a complicated workers’ compensation process

• She is now living on very limited monthly assistance

Despite everything, my mom has kept going. That’s who she is and always has been: determined, resilient, and always pushing forward no matter how hard things get.

Now she finally has an apartment, but she is still struggling to stabilize her life.

We are asking for help to cover some immediate and critical needs:

• Retrieving her belongings from a storage unit 5 hours away

• Repairing her Honda CR-V, which is essential for transportation

• Ongoing expenses resulting from her injury

• Basic living stability, so she can focus on healing and getting back on her feet

Our goal is to give my mom, Kari, a small but meaningful safety net so she can move forward with dignity and less stress.

Funds will be managed by me on my mom’s behalf and used directly for her essential expenses.
