Hi there!

My name is Kari and I am an aspiring children’s book author. I had a baby last year, and during some her long naps, I decided to write a kid’s book about one of my favorite animals - the octopus!

I wrote and illustrated ‘A Not So Ordinary Octopus’ to inspire kids (& parents!) to learn about cool creatures while also fostering a love for reading.

My book is about a coconut octopus narrating her life in the sea and telling the reader cool facts about herself. You will learn about the anatomy of her body, how intelligent she is, what she eats and more!

I am working with a self-publishing platform to get ‘A Not So Ordinary Octopus’ formatted and printed, so to help facilitate this I’m looking to raise some funds & make this little dream a reality! Here are some options for you to join in:

$35 - signed copy of ‘A Not So Ordinary Octopus’

$50 - a signed copy of my book + a cute octopus sticker designed by yours truly.

$75 - a signed copy of my book, sticker and a hand-drawn “abstract” picture by my daughter, Solvi.

$200 - a signed copy of the book, sticker, drawn picture by Solvi, and a limited edition (only 5 made) hand-knitted by my mom, Coco the Octopus from the book!

Note: 15% of these proceeds will be going to World Central Kitchen

This is my first go around publishing a book! At this point, we are still unsure of timing for getting the book printed and shipped, but anticipate having that sweet octopus in your hands by fall.
