Support Karina's Fight for Legal Residency

Hi my name is Karina Hurtado. I am a stay at home mom of a special needs child with a small crochet business and a husband who works two jobs to provide. Even with how hard we work, we are barely scraping by and need some assistance to keep our family together.

In short I was brought to this country as an infant illegally, and in 1997 my parents submitted my paper work to become a resident of this country. Due to familial problems my dad, who was the one who submitted my documents and began the process, failed to see the process through, and refuses to help me in any way now. So I find myself needing to hire an immigration lawyer to fight for me and helps me become a legal resident and hopefully citizen of this country as soon a possible.

It's a costly process and I need all the help I can get. It has always been a goal of mine to complete this process but we've never had the money to do so. However, in the current climate of this country, the fear and anxiety of not knowing is a daily struggle. My biggest fear is being separated from my 5yr old autistic son, who quite literally depends on me for everything. The fear of not having a family member pick him up in the case that I am stopped, and that he is taken to a child detention center is my worst nightmare. Too many kids go missing and are abused and traumatized after the fact, and that's not a chance I'm willing to take. So I want to do everything in my power to stay with him here, which is why I ask for your help. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you.
