Things have changed quickly and not for the best. Looks like NY is too far out and she won’t be able to make the trip as of yet.

Karina has been admitted into the hospital and will be starting an aggressive chemotherapy here at UCSF immediately.

Please keep her in your prayers and continue to share this gofundme so that we can make sure that money isn’t a worry for food, bills, medical needs etc, as she has enough going on.

Hi! My name is Holly, I am my beautiful niece Karina’s Auntie.

Im setting up this gofundme for Karinas unforeseen medical and travel expenses.

Karina has developed lung cancer called Spindle Cell Sarcoma. Her story goes back to when she was 9 years old she had a tumor in her leg and had to endure chemotherapy and radiation! Fast forward to 2021 she developed cancer in her same leg. After doing chemotherapy the decision was made to remove her left leg.

August this year she started to not feel well and had to be admitted to the hospital and they found fluid in the lungs and new spots on her chest wall. Tests have came back as “ Spindle Cell Sarcoma “at this time there is no cure for this type of cancer, we are hoping for new treatments to have this disease slow down enough so we can have it surgically removed . Her and her husband will be heading to New York for a second opinion and possibly a new clinical trial treatment plan.

We were looking to get some financial help with some of our travel expenses and any unforeseen expenses, that we cannot predict. We don’t know what to expect, we will know more after the 28th. Not sure what insurance will cover, but her life is more important than those details. Any and all help is very much appreciated.
