My name is Karina, and I have been a resident in Pasadena for 30 years. My kids attend Aveson School of Leaders in Altadena. We had just moved into our new rental in Altadena (across charles white park) in mid-December of last year, 2024. We got an opportunity to rent a home near Aveson where we could afford rent. We did put most of our savings into the deposit, and the rest we used to buy furniture for our home. Unfortunately, the Altadena fires have gotten to our home. We did not get a chance to take anything with us and we are hoping we can raise a bit of money to get the essentials for our family. I work as a per diem contract behavior staff for the district and don't receive benefits. We don't have a place to stay and are waiting for the 211 Airbnb to get back to us. Anything helps.
