Karim has been a very close friend and colleague since 2008. He has always been helpful and kind to everyone around him. When I first learned about his daughter’s condition many years ago, I was nervous for him and unsure how he would handle such a challenging new phase of his life. But Karim showed unwavering dedication, becoming the primary caregiver for his daughter for over 12 years. He never stopped being a devoted dad, even through the most difficult times. From countless medical appointments to emergencies, Karim was always there for her. He put his own life on hold, rarely hanging out or taking time for himself, because his focus was entirely on caring for his daughter. I have never seen anyone as strong and loving as Karim was to his child. He made sure every appointment was kept, monitored nurse visits, and always reminded medical staff about her medications—what she could and couldn’t take. Karim was vigilant 24/7, especially during the tough winter months. I know this because he would call me, and I could feel the weight of his struggles. Even when we met in person, he was often in tears, but his love for his daughter never wavered. Karim’s heartfelt story has drawn me even closer to my own family. His dedication is a true example of the unconditional love parents have for their children. Now, after such a long and difficult journey, Karim is facing the unimaginable loss of his daughter.
