My aunt who I call Tia is facing an incredibly challenging time. After a small cut on her toe became infected, her body was unable to fight off the infection. The infection spread into the bone, and now she must undergo surgery to remove her toe and half of her foot. On top of this, Karen is also recovering from thyroid cancer, making her recovery even more difficult and stressful for her and her loved ones.

While she is in the hospital and during her recovery at home, she will need help covering the costs of her surgery that insurance will not pay for. She will also need support with her rent, groceries, and other essential bills for up to six months while she is unable to work. Her family will be by her side, helping her each day as she heals and adjusts to life after surgery.
