We are gathering funds to help out my beautiful step-mom, Karen. You may remember her from Chetco Pharmacy years ago, from the Wild Bird Store, making you coffee, or more recently helping you at Fred Meyer. She has been an active member of our community for many years. After losing her job at Fred Meyer, she was immediately hired in to start a new manager position at Shell. It wasn’t long into her new job that she fell ill and was admitted to Curry General Hospital for abscesses in her bowel. Her condition worsened quickly, prompting a life flight to Grants Pass and emergency surgery. It was long, but successful. During her recovery she was informed that she will have to have a 2nd surgery in the near future to repair multiple polyps.

Without health insurance and their already limited income, this leaves my parents with immense financial strain. Karen would give you the shirt off her back in heartbeat and never asks for help. She’s quick to give a hug, a warm meal, and a kind word to anyone within her presence. She has been the most amazing mom to all 4 of us kids since the day she married my dad.

I understand the world is under hardship right now, so any amount donated or this being shared is greatly appreciated. I’d be over the moon to see our community come together and help a woman who has been so willing to help us any chance she could. She has a long road to full recovery, all donations will be going to her and my dad to cover medical expenses and help them through this difficult time. Thank you
