Hello everyone, my name is Karen Cortes. Most of you know that the U.S. has been my home since I was a child it is the place where I grew up

and built the life I lead today.

While my journey began here as a DACA recipient, I am finally at a point where I am eligible to petition for my permanent residency and green card. This is more than just paperwork to me, it is the chance to finally feel secure in the country I love. My boyfriend now, husband

and I have been together for nine wonderful years, and we’ve worked so hard to build a life here with our three kitties in our new home.

The legal and filing fees are a significant hurdle. In an uncertain time, my biggest wish is to complete this process as soon as possible to ensure my future with my family.
