Hello, my name is Karena Carwise and I'm 40 years old. In Oct 2025, I was informed I was pregnant with my first child, a baby girl to be exact. During my 2nd month, I became overly sick. I was hemorrhaging, couldn't hold any food or fluids down. It came to the point where I couldn't work. I applied for many at-home jobs, but nothing came through. On March 11th, I had to be rushed to the ER where I found out I was leaking amniotic fluid and my body was fighting an infection. At 24 weeks pregnant, my baby and I were fighting to hold on. I was admitted and the doctor began antibiotics to try to help me carry my pregnancy at least until 34 weeks. God had other plans. My water eventually broke and the infection was now worse. Doctors came in the room stating we have to do an emergency C-section now. The infection is surrounding the baby and mom, you can go into septic shock. I didn't hesitate; I just prayed and agreed. Leela was born at just 24 weeks, weighing 1 lb 9 oz. She has 24-hour monitoring, has had blood transfusions, etc. They advised us we would be here for a while. I have to be discharged in a day. After my discharge, I would need to pay $30.00 a day to stay in a room at the hospital to be here with my baby. I'm not able to get back to work at the time due to my procedure. If you can help in any way, I am grateful even if it's just a prayer. I'm just a mom in need of supplies and financial help with my daughter at this moment. Trouble doesn't last always and I'll be back on my feet, but until then, whatever you can donate would be great. That way I can pay for the room and food plus medical bills until I'm able to get back to work.
