Hello everyone,
My name is Elizabeth - my siblings (Kate & Roman) and I are reaching out with hopeful hearts to ask for help for someone who has always put everyone else before herself - our mom, Karen Weidner.
On April 2nd, 2025, our mom went in for a surgery to remove a large pelvic mass that was discovered weeks prior. During that procedure, doctors discovered something none of us were prepared for: high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC).
As a result, the doctors performed a full hysterectomy along with the removal of the mass, and later installed a chest port for her future chemotherapy treatments.
Aside from a frightening allergic reaction to her first round of chemotherapy on May 15th, her treatments have all been going as smoothly as one could hope for after trying a different chemo drug. She has been utilizing acupuncture and cryotherapy to aid her during treatments as well.
Although the chemo has been incredibly hard on her body and mind, her spirit has remained positive and optimistic with high hopes for future healing and recovery.
Our mom is one of the most caring, resilient, and selfless people we know. Asking for support is never easy, and we know she would not ask for help herself... so we are asking for her.
Our hope is to lift some weight off of her shoulders so that she can focus on healing, as she has not been able to work, and likely won't be able to during her post-chemo recovery.
We are reaching out to ask for prayers of strength and healing, kind and uplifting words of encouragement, and if possible, donations to help cover her basic costs of living during this challenging journey. However you choose to support, she will be deeply grateful.
Thank you for your love and support,
The Weidner Siblings
