Karen Mashburn has been a warm and welcoming presence at Reynolds Lake Oconee for years, working at Kathy's Cafe at The Lake Club. She is known for greeting everyone with a smile and a hug, making guests feel special and loved. Since moving to Reynolds in 2015, Karen has consistently made me and my husband feel at home. I often work remotely from the Lake Club, and I overhear her conversations with guests—she always goes out of her way to make people feel welcome and tells them she loves them. How cool is that?
Recently, Karen shared that she is leaving Reynolds to focus solely on caring for her mother, who suffered a stroke. Though her mother lives nearby in Milledgeville, GA, Karen feels it is necessary to be with her full time. To make this possible, she is selling her belongings and making sacrifices to ensure her mother receives the care she needs. The funds raised will help Karen bridge the gap during this challenging time, covering immediate needs and, hopefully, providing some security for her future, such as an investment or retirement account.
Karen has always been there for the community, spreading kindness and love. Now, she needs our support as she steps up to care for her mother. Any contribution will make a difference and show Karen how much she means to all of us.
