To our Whitewater and NLS family: Karen Magnus, the spunky McQueeney waitress and dedicated Whitewater VIP gate security guard, passed early morning of November 21st after a brief but fierce battle with cancer. She leaves behind three loving sons, her Blake’s Restaurant customers who adored her, and many friends through NLS and beyond. Karen embodied a “small but mighty” spirit, which served her well in work and play. Despite a Stage 4 diagnosis just a few short weeks ago, she faced the difficult journey and fought with all she had — never losing sight of the impact her death would have on her sons.
Like many of us in this economy, Karen had no savings to help cover household expenses after she got sick and was unable to work, and no end-of-life benefits to cover service and cremation costs. We are praying our NLS family can pull together and help her sons with this unexpected burden while they grieve the loss of their mother. Even a small donation can make a huge impact and lessen the burden on the family.
Let’s do this for Karen, for our friend and co-worker, a beautiful human being who will be greatly missed and never forgotten. "In this life we cannot always do great things. But we can do small things with great love." — Mother Teresa
Thank you in advance for your support.
