Our stepfather John was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in January of 2022. This month he and my mom are traveling to California for a second life-extending surgery, and we are raising funds to help our mom and John with travel, lodging, lost income, medical and recovery expenses during their 6 week stay after surgery at City of Hope Hospital in Los Angeles. After the challenges of years of chemotherapy and everything John has already endured, this next step is not a small one. It is physically taxing, emotionally exhausting, and financially overwhelming.

We are creating this fundraiser because we love them, and because we want to help lighten the burden in any way we can. We want them to be able to focus on John’s healing and on the gift of being together through this time without the constant pressure of financial stress hanging over them.
