Hi! My name is Taylor, and I am organizing on behalf of my wonderful (future) mother-in-law, Kara. She is facing breast cancer for the second time, and we need your help to support her through this challenging journey.

Kara is a dedicated massage therapist who has always put the needs of others first. Her caring nature and positive spirit have touched the lives of many. Unfortunately, her battle with breast cancer means she will be unable to work for an extended period due to the necessary surgeries and recovery time.

Why We Need Your Help

After enjoying life post-treatment, Kara discovered what she thought was a cyst and had it checked out. The initial mammogram and ultrasound led to a biopsy by a dermatologist, who opted to remove it entirely.

Unfortunately, the results were not as hoped. The pathology report revealed that the "cyst" was, in fact, recurrent breast cancer. Kara's oncologist, who had previously seen the cyst and wasn't concerned, confirmed the recurrence after further tests. This unexpected turn has baffled both Kara and her doctors, as she was given only a 2% chance of recurrence following her treatment plan in 2018.

Kara is now preparing for round two of her battle with cancer. She is currently in the process of determining the best course of treatment, which will include surgery, radiation, and potentially chemotherapy at this time. Despite the daunting road ahead, Kara remains positive, adopting a "Round 2, FIGHT!" mentality inspired by Mortal Kombat.

The funds raised will be used to cover:

- Medical Expenses: The costs for surgery, treatment, and follow-up visits are substantial.

- Living Expenses: Our family will need assistance covering living costs while Kara recovers from surgery and other treatments.

- Unexpected Costs: To ensure we are prepared for any additional or unforeseen expenses.
