Our dear friend Kara Seiffert sustained an injury in the fall. She has been off work for about 3 months (with no disability benefit) and during this time has had countless appointments, ER visits, spinal surgery, and two inpatient stays. She is recovering but it has been a very long process. We all know that Kara excels at taking care of everyone around her - so being completely unable to function at all, let alone work, take care of her family and friends, and just do normal household activities has been extremely difficult. Through all this, she has accumulated many medical bills during a time that she has no income. After I badgered her into it, she agreed to let us have a fundraiser to offset a portion of her medical costs, as well as those daily costs like daycare that don't stop just because she is unable to work. Being Kara, of course she wants me to stress that nobody should feel obligated to donate anything, and please don't give too much. We can't wait to see her back on her feet and dancing once all this is over!!
