I am setting up this GoFundMe for my little sister Kara. Right before Thanksgiving in 2025, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. What started as a visit to the doctor for what she thought were kidney stones quickly turned into a devastating diagnosis. A scan at the ER revealed a tumor in her colon, lesions on her liver and in a lymph node, and since then, the cancer has spread to her stomach, a couple vertebrae and bones in her back. Kara has been in and out of the hospital four times since November 22, enduring severe pain every day. She just completed her third round of chemo, but she remains very weak and tired. Now, she is facing surgery on her back, removal of a tumor in her colon, radiation, and a blood transfusion due to anemia. She has lost a significant amount of weight and is fighting hard to stay strong for her family. Kara is only 48 years old and has a son and two grandbabies, ages 1 and 2, who mean the world to her. She also loves spending time with them and her great nieces and nephews, and prays every day that she will get her strength back to be able to do so. She is determined to watch them grow up and be there for every milestone. Our family has been doing everything we can to support her, but the costs keep rising. Insurance does not cover all the pain medications she needs and there are so many daily expenses piling up. The funds raised will help Kara with gas to get to and from chemo and radiation, doctor’s appointments, prescription and over the counter medicine not covered by insurance, her daily needs and monthly bills, including electric, propane, phone, and other essentials. Your support will help take some of the worry off her shoulders during this incredibly difficult time. We would also be so grateful for your prayers that the chemo/radiation works and starts shrinking the tumor and killing the cancer cells.
