We are raising funds for our dear friend, Kara Patrick. Kara was recently diagnosed with Stage 2, triple negative breast cancer. Kara is currently 33 weeks pregnant, and her medical team is moving quickly to treat this aggressive form of breast cancer. They have opted to induce labor, nearly two months early, so that she can begin chemotherapy and radiation as soon as possible.

Kara just graduated from anesthesia school and was eager to begin working. With the upcoming treatments, doctors have told her that she will not be able to work for the rest of the year. On top of everything, she is in the middle of transitioning her health insurance coverage, as her student policy is ending. These circumstances have added even more uncertainty and financial strain to an already overwhelming situation for this growing family.
