Our newborn son, Kanoa, only six days old, was diagnosed with Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn (TTN) and admitted to the NICU in Hawaii. While he’s making steady progress, he still experiences episodes of apnea, delaying his discharge. The doctors tell us, “Kanoa just needs more time to practice,” and we hold onto hope for his full recovery.
Meanwhile, Kanoa’s big brother, Ray, who is eight years older, has only met his little brother for a single day. Ray misses Kanoa dearly and is struggling with the separation. Ray has been pouring his heart into breakdancing, training hard for a competition in Texas this July. This trip was a big dream for him, a chance to shine, but the mounting NICU bills are making it nearly impossible to afford.
As parents, it breaks our hearts to think Ray might miss this opportunity after all his hard work. We’ve started this GoFundMe to help cover Kanoa’s medical expenses and give Ray the chance to chase his dreams. Any support, no matter how small, means the world to our family during this challenging time. Thank you for helping us keep hope alive for both our boys.
