My name is Kannetha, and I’ve spent years documenting my family’s history as a Cambodian-American artist. This fall, I’m heading to Cambodia on a Fulbright Fellowship to complete a deeply personal project: "My Sisters Sleep in Battambang."

My mother found only a few family photos in the rubble after the Khmer Rouge genocide. Because our ancestors rest in unmarked graves, I am returning their images to the land through "Spirit Flags"—portraits printed on large, translucent fabric banners and installed in the landscapes where they are believed to rest.

The Need
While my fellowship covers basic living costs, it doesn't cover the art production. Your support will directly fund:
Production: Large-scale fabric printing and archival inks.
Documentation: 4x5 large-format film and processing.
Field Logistics: Hiring local guides and monks to help map site locations.
Community Support: Giving back to the local families and organizations assisting my research.

Thank you for your consideration!
