Support Kanesha and Dani's Recovery Journey

Hello,

My name is Sabrina Feggans and . On Monday, July 8th, our daughter Kanesha Feggans and her girlfriend Dani were in a pedestrian-vehicle accident. They were struck by a mail van while riding a scooter on Seminole Trail, 29 North. Kanesha’s head hit the van windshield. She was rushed to UVA ICU, and she suffered a brain injury, 2 fractured eardrums resulting in hearing loss, a concussion with an impact to her right eyesight & memory loss, a collapsed lung, several fractures and multiple skin burns.

Dani suffered several minor fractures, bruised ribs and a sprained shoulder.

While we are so thankful God has spared Kanesha and Dani’s life, Kanesha has a long journey ahead of her that will not allow her to return to work for several months or return to school at PVCC to finish up her last 4 classes of her Associate in Computer Science concentrate in Cybersecurity degree. She will need to delay these courses until 2025, which is devastating to her.

Kanesha also worked part-time with no paid time off nor benefits. Therefore, she will be without income while she is in the hospital and will go to in-house rehabilitation as she re-learns several normal skills and adapts to this new life.

Dani is a full-time nanny and will not be able to return to work to care for 3 children for a couple of weeks due to her injuries.

We are asking for your help. The funds will be used to assist Nesha and Dani with their monthly recurring bills- rent/utilities, insurance, food, medical and transportation needs that will need to be taken care of for several months until they both can return to semi work environment.

We appreciate any contribution you can provide to assist Kanesha and Dani.
