Support Kandi's Recovery from Severe Concussion
A few weeks ago, I was at the swimming pool with my wife. I was standing there talking to her when suddenly I was knocked off my feet and landed in the water. I was hit so hard I didn't even know what happened. Two guys were playing football and had drilled holes into a Nerf football to make it heavier, filled with water and were having a contest with each other to see who could throw it the hardest. Apparently, one of them didn't catch it, and it blasted me dead center on the forehead. I was okay for the next few days, just an extreme headache and a bump to the head. However, after those few days, all kinds of medical things began to happen. My world began to spin, causing blackouts, blood pressure spikes of over 200, leading to a 911 call, rolling panic attacks, severe neck pain, etc. After some scans, they determined that I have a brain concussion. My brain bounced off my skull, causing inflammation, and I developed post-concussion syndrome. I am bed-bound, with meds, rest, and sleep. Recovery can take up to a month or two, and neurology is the next step. Please send prayers at Godspeed. I am my family's sole provider for the most part (my wife is a heart patient), and we really can't afford the downtime. I am already feeling this, and it's only week one. My medication has co-pays, etc., and the bills are going to pile up. If you know me at all, you know I am the first to help everyone else. I'd give the shirt off my own back in a heartbeat, and to have to make one of these for myself feels like one of the heaviest things I've ever had to do! Times are hard for everyone right now, and I get that. If you could find it in your heart to help me and my family, I would be forever grateful and would pay it forward as soon as I can function again. And if you can't, I just ask that you could pray for me and mine at Godspeed. Thank you all either way for your love and support! ~ Kandi.
