Hi all, I’m Shannon I’m doing a fundraiser for my cousin Kandi Stewart and her family. Kandi has Astrocytoma which is a kind of brain cancer. Due to the location of Kandi’s tumor makes it inoperable. This is not her first time fighting cancer, less than 5 years ago she overcame an invasive breast cancer. This time around it has been very different. Kandi’s FMLA has expired, she lost the position that she’s held for more than 9 years. Her health benefits expired leaving her and her family without health insurance. Kandi has completed 6 weeks of daily radiation and chemotherapy treatments already, but she still has 11 more months of chemo and many more doctors’ appointments to go. Kandi, her husband Scott, along their children Aaron, Kaylee, and Zach are a big part of their community. Scott is a member of two local fire departments and when Scott is not working at the fire departments, he is out delivering oil for a local heating oil company. Kandi is a positive, strong-willed mother, wife, and friend. She does not ask for help she is the one that helps you. With that being said we are trying to gather all the love, support, and positive thoughts for this family to keep Kandi strong.
