Kanani is a devoted mother of four whose world was turned upside down after months of being given the runaround by doctors, diagnostic centers, and insurance providers. During this time, her health continued to decline. After months of uncertainty, Kanani was finally diagnosed with Stage IV-B ovarian cancer—a diagnosis that came far too late.

As a result, Kanani was forced to leave her home, family, and friends to seek specialized treatment out of state in California, where she has the best chance at survival.

What makes this especially heartbreaking is that Kanani has always taken exceptional care of herself. She is a former fitness competitor who earned her professional card, dedicating years of discipline and commitment to her health. She maintained an active lifestyle, prioritized her well-being, and did everything “right,” her cancer went undetected until it reached an advanced stage.

Since her diagnosis, Kanani has been facing the fight of her life with remarkable strength and resilience. She is navigating aggressive treatments, countless appointments, and the emotional and physical toll that comes with a cancer diagnosis.

While Kanani does have health insurance, it does not cover a significant portion of her current treatment. This fundraiser is specifically to support Phase 1 of her care, which has already begun. Phase 1 consists of an intensive 4–6 week treatment program in California, costing approximately $5,000 per week, not including travel, temporary housing, medications, or daily living expenses.

This journey will involve multiple phases of treatment, and as Kanani continues forward, additional medical needs and uncovered costs will be discovered along the way. The financial burden is overwhelming, and we are raising funds now to help ease the immediate strain of this first critical phase so Kanani can focus fully on healing.
