Hey, my name is Kamya. Last year in June, me and my mom struggled with taking care of my granny because she had a stroke. Me and my mother had to take care of her until February when my auntie took my grandma away from us. Not too long after that, child protective services came to my school and told me I couldn’t see my mom until I turned 18. I had to stay with my dad, but I did see my mom on Mother’s Day. It was hard being separated from my mom. After that, my auntie took away the house, left our stuff outside, and took my dog away. It was hard for my mom; she didn’t have anybody to stay with.

Today, I found out my mother lost her job and has been living in the car, sleeping by the Walmart parking lot. Now she wants to end her life because she has no one in her life besides me.
