Support Kamron Hazel's Residency in Amsterdam
Donation protected
In his sculptures, performative interventions, and videos, American artist Kamron Hazel is questioning the production of art and what art can be. Kam is doing a residency at De Ateliers in Amsterdam starting in September 2020 and we are aiming to raise $2200 to support Kam's moving and travel expenses. Help us get this brilliant artist over to the Netherlands in good health and spirits so he can continue making great work!
About his practice:
In times of increasing globalization and rapidly growing circulation of imagery, he is interested in how communities and identities are structured. His aim is not to distinguish what is real and what isn't but to ask for closer inspection of the present and to deconstruct the modern myths of life in America today. His witty, momentary, and interdisciplinary works, often created on location and in collaboration with others, bring disruption and destabilization, offering fresh perspectives and new ideas.
2013-2017, BFA Fine Arts, Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, USA
2016 ,Yale School of Art Norfolk
2019-2019, Skoweghan School of Art, Madison, Maine, USA
