Hello, my name is Kamish. I am starting this GoFundMe to help my family back home in Jamaica. I currently reside in Florida, and it is so hard for me because I am not there, and I'm not able to help as much as I would like. As you all might know, Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm, tore through Jamaica — leaving devastation across the island. My family’s home was one of many that suffered severe damage. Roofs were ripped away, walls cracked, and flooding destroyed what little they had inside. My nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters were all affected. I am trying to raise some funds to help them rebuild their homes and get needed supplies.

These photos show the heartbreaking reality of what’s left — the place that once held laughter, warmth, and memories is now barely standing. Despite losing so much, my family remains strong and grateful to still have one another.

They are now facing the enormous challenge of rebuilding their homes from the ground up — repairing the roof, replacing damaged walls and doors, and restoring basic necessities like electricity and clean water. Every little bit truly helps — whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply a prayer.

Your kindness can help give my family a safe place to sleep again, and a chance to start over after losing nearly everything.
