This page is being created for my cousin, Kamil Escobar. You most likely know my cousin if you know me. He is more like a brother to me than just a cousin. He has always supported and shielded me, for as back as I can remember. He is the kind of person that genuinely cares about you and will stop at nothing to support you and your goals.
Less than a month ago, on 2/6/25, he was admitted to the emergency department with pancreatitis, and his health rapidly worsened. In less than a day, he had to be intubated when his lungs and kidneys collapsed. He was put on short-term dialysis and a ventilator. He was found to have chronic pancreatic necrosis. This disorder occurs when a sizable amount of pancreatic tissue shows long-term necrosis, or chronic cell death. Because of the risk of consequences like infection and organ failure, it is a dangerous sickness that needs close monitoring and treatment. Although he is no longer in the hospital, he will return and leave multiple times. He must have EUS with paracentesis, a procedure that removes fluid from the pancreas. His recovery will be long and difficult.
Since he works for himself and owns his personal training company, Esco Bootcamp (@esco_fitness on Instagram), the situation has become quite stressful. His inability to drive or work will keep him from making a living for at least six months. Up to a year may pass before the mending process really gets better. In addition, he needs to take a medication called Creon because his pancreas isn't producing any pancreatic enzymes. Since he is an entrepreneur and small business owner with no employee benefits, his insurance does not cover the $2500 monthly cost of the medicine.
Every day, the medical bills keep getting bigger and after much thought our family has decided to humbly ask for some help. Any small donation means the world to Kamil and our family. We will be eternally grateful and indebted to you. Thank you for taking the time to read this and support my cousin during this very difficult time for our family.
