Support Kami Through Cancer
Donation protected
Someone we care about has had a new life challenge come up for her. Our intention of this Go Fund Me page is to give people who know and care about Kami Schott an opportunity to let her know you care and to support her during this challenging time.
In early November, Kami learned that she has an aggressive form of breast cancer. She recently learned that it has not yet spread systemically --THANK GOODNESS!--But it may be in adjacent lymph nodes. She is scheduled for a mastectomy December 6th and has been told that recovery time will be 6-12 weeks. Further treatment will be determined thereafter.
Kami is staying positive and has a strong support system. We know she is self-employed, which means she does not have the option of using sick time and getting paid. She has a $6K deductible and this may need to be paid again as her insurance renews in 2020. She may need to pay out of pocket for a key MRI to determine if she has cancer in her other breast and of course, she will be sans an income to keep up with mortgage payments while recovering. For this reason, we wanted to set up this page to help alleviate some of the financial stress of dealing with a medical situation which will result in some time where she will be unable to work. We also want this to be a way for people to show their support for Kami and let her know that people are there for her.
We are starting with a goal of $6K as a start to cover her 2019 deductible, which would be incredible.
Kami is an independent woman so we appreciate that she agreed to letting us create this Go Fund Me page for her.
