Kamber, my sister-in-law, was first diagnosed with a rare Sarcoma cancer a little over two years ago. Since then, she has faced an incredibly tough journey, including heavy chemotherapy and a major surgery that removed a quarter of her lung, the tumor that had taken over her entire right chest wall, and her diaphragm, which had to be reconstructed. Despite all she’s been through, Kamber’s strength and determination have never wavered. About ten months after her first surgery, another tumor appeared. She has been on chemotherapy again and just finished her last dose a couple of weeks ago. Now, she faces another major surgery on December 30th to remove the new tumor, several ribs, and her chest wall, which will be replaced with titanium mesh. Frank, her husband, will be by her side every step of the way, and they won’t be able to return to Missouri until February. This means no income for their family during this time, and they have two daughters who need their support. The funds raised will help Kamber and her family with travel expenses as they need to be in Texas for her treatment and recovery. It will also help with home bills, since Frank isn’t able to work while caring for Kamber.
