I met Kamal in January of 2025 while visiting Tulkarm, Palestine, for the first time. We met while we were both doing volunteer farm work and I noticed a skateboard in his trunk and we quickly became close friends. Kamal is a caring, hardworking, wonderful person and I really hope to honor this by raising the money he needs to escape violent occupation and to support his family.
The situation in Tulkarm is dire and getting worse everyday. The city borders the apartheid wall and has two refugee camps in the city, one of which Kamal is from. Kamal, along with many others in Nur Shams refugee camp, has been displaced, his home demolished. It is not safe to spend time outside and there is no work to find. Everyday the raiding, demolitions and violence continue to rise. On top of this Kamal is caring for his family and just trying to survive. His father recently had a heart attack and is now at home after the doctors said there is nothing they can due to help him. The surgery is too dangerous.
Please help my friend escape the occupation and continue to support his family. These funds will go directly to traveling, paperwork, and lawyer fees.
