Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out for support in an opportunity that will directly impact my students and my classroom.
I am a high school biology teacher in a Title I school, where many of my students face barriers to accessing advanced academic opportunities. This year, I have the chance to attend the National Association of Research on Science Teaching, a national education conference, in Seattle—an experience focused on innovative, research-based strategies in science education, student engagement, and teacher sustainability.
This conference isn’t just a trip—it’s an investment in my students.
Through this experience, I will:
- Learn new, evidence-based instructional strategies to improve student achievement
- Bring back engaging, hands-on approaches to make biology more accessible and meaningful
- Strengthen my ability to support students academically and emotionally
- Continue my professional growth as I complete my doctorate focused on teacher burnout and student impact
Unfortunately, my county is unable to provide funding for my travel due to allocations to higher needs within the district, so I will be self funding the trip if I can. The total cost for travel, hotel, and conference registration is approximately $2,500. I am working to secure funding, but I need additional support to make this opportunity possible.
If you choose to donate, you are not just supporting me—you are directly investing in the students I serve every day. Every strategy I learn and bring back will benefit current and future students in my classroom.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you for supporting education, growth, and opportunity.
