Support Kali's Fight for Life

Hi! I'm Rae, Kali's (Maltese mix puppy) mom!

We live in South Austin.

My sweet 11 month old girl is battling kidney failure, yes you read that right!

Monday, we were sent over to Aves after out vet did bloodwork on her. Although, the doctor is leaning more to a leptospirosis diagnosis, based on her labs (she was vaccinated for this virus too)We are currently waiting for the results to confirm- which I'm told could take 3-5 business days.

After speaking with Dr. Slead this morning(07/31)he let me know Kali is not out of the "woods" yet!

He is thinking she will probably remain in ICU through this weekend.

I am needing help with her vet bill, as I have already nearly depleted my savings trying to get her the care that she needs. But can not afford her hospitalization through the weekend.

My husband passed away unexpectedly 15 months ago. I thought getting a puppy would help me in my grief journey. Kali became a part of our family when she was 8 weeks old. Her first vet appointment was the Monday after we bought her home. She is up to date on all of her vaccines. She is very well cared for and LOVED!!!

I can not imagine having to stop her treatment due to lack of money.
