Support Kala's Road to Recovery

I'm Jos and I'm raising emergency funds for my best friend, Kala Heldoorn. She was preparing for her move from Las Vegas back to our hometown, Austin Texas at the end April 2024 when she started experiencing abdominal pains that severely exacerbated and resulted in emergency Colostomy surgery. She has been in the hospital over a week with another on the horizon, grappling with a difficult intestinal condition that has a long road to recovery with lifestyle adjustments including the need for Ostomy bags and additional surgeries and potential hospitalizations. Her living arrangement timeline is also interrupted while she convalesces and goes through physical therapy in Vegas for at least another month. Since she was planning on moving, she had already given 2 weeks notice at work prior to the hospitalization and was let go on the spot, so she was unable to recoup the additional paycheck and insurance benefits.
