Hi there! My name is Kaity, and I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2019 when I showed up to the E.R. with stroke-like symptoms. A week in the hospital and a week in physical rehab really helped me learn how to live better. It has been an up-and-down journey since then. I had to relearn how to walk in 2019, relearn how to do basically everything. I've had a few flare-ups since then, and with each flare-up, it gets worse.
In September of 2023, I had a flare-up and ended up using an upright rollator that I purchased off of Amazon. I had assumed that it would be temporary. Unfortunately, I have never been able to rehab out of it even after 3 rounds of physical therapy. Now my walker is falling apart. Actual pieces are falling off of it. It is also no longer stable and it wobbles. Mobility and pain have only been getting worse. In addition to MS, I am currently being evaluated for POTS, I am having surgery soon to revise a previous surgery for the inspire sleep apnea implant and soon a treatment for a torn ACL.
I am in desperate need of new mobility aids like a new walker. My mobility is getting worse as well as my pain. I'm so fatigued that walking has been causing me problems as well. With all of this being said, I am no longer able to work and I am on a limited income. Funding these things is near impossible for me. I am asking for help. Thank you for spending the time to read and listen to my story. I appreciate you all.
