Update: It’s hard to find the words to express how grateful we are for the incredible support Kaity, David, and their baby have received so far. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised over $10,000 to help them recover after losing their home in the Burdoin Fire.
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you.
We want to give special thanks to both Murphy’s Watering Hole in Bingen and Premier Property Group for going above and beyond to support Kaity’s family and others affected by the fire. Your generosity, organization, and heart have truly made a difference during this difficult time.
But while the fire may no longer be in the headlines, the aftermath is still a daily reality. Kaity and David are working to rebuild their life from the ground up, with a baby in tow, no home of their own, and countless essentials still missing.
If you’re able to give—or even just share this fundraiser—it means the world. Every contribution helps meet ongoing needs like clothing, baby supplies, food, and basic everyday items we often take for granted.
Let’s keep this momentum going and remind them that they are not alone. Let’s show them that even after the news cameras are gone, their community still stands with them.
Original Post: My childhood friend Kaity, her husband David, and their sweet baby lost everything in the Burdoin Fire that tore through the Columbia Gorge on July 19th. Their home was completely destroyed, along with all of their belongings. They made it out safely—but now face the overwhelming task of starting over with nothing.
Kaity and David are loving, hard-working parents doing their best to care for their little one while navigating this unimaginable loss. They need support to cover essentials like:
• Temporary housing and daily living costs
• Clothing, baby supplies, and toiletries
• Food and household necessities
• Replacing basic everyday items
At this time, they are not able to accept donations of physical items, as they don’t have a place to store them. Monetary donations are the most helpful way to support them right now and will go directly toward meeting their immediate and ongoing needs.
Every little bit helps as they begin this long road to recovery. If you’re able to give, your generosity will make a real difference in helping this young family regain stability and peace of mind during an incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for your kindness, your shares, and your support.
