My name is Kaitlyn Coleman a 4th year Health Information technology student at Kennesaw State University. My platform highlights difficulties in health for expecting black mothers. I seek to diminish racial bias and improve accessibility to health resources for black mothers everywhere. In America, Black women are more than 2.5 times likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than our counterparts. This can be caused by racial bias, limited access to resources, or preexisting conditions. I seek to draw awareness to this not only within our community, but to black mothers and families world wide. I want to improve access to healthcare and invoke a community based movement to pedestal these women. I am dedicated to making healthcare a safe space for mothers that look just like yours and mine.
