After experiencing a severe headache for several days, Kaitlin’s doctors discovered the pain was coming from a brain bleed. Doctors ran multiple tests and found the bled was caused by a condition Kaitlin was unknowingly born with called Arterioveneous Malformation.

Kaitlin was taken by ambulance to a hospital in San Jose, Costa Rica. Since then she has undergone two emergency brain surgeries. At this time Kaitlin is stable but will remain in the ICU. We are still waiting for more answers as to what the future holds, but we are told she will need at least one more surgery plus rehabilitation.

Adding to the stress, Kaitlin's medical insurance is not covering her treatments and hospital stay. After the surgeries, Kaitlin and Cesar will need to temporarily rent a more accessible house that is closer to the hospital. They will also need support for both Kaitlin and Cesar to take an unknown amount of time off from work, until Kaitlin has healed. 

Kelsey, Kaitlin's sister, set up this Gofundme to help fund their mounting medical bills and related expenses.
