Support Kaitlee and Larkspur's Emergency Vet Care

Donation protected
Hello! I'm Kaitlee, a disabled college student, and my adorable dog is Larkspur who is my ESA for multiple conditions. Over the course of about two hours she got very sick very quickly and I had to bring her to the emergency vet, which I am struggling to afford. I love her too much to turn down any treatment that vet highly suggests, and with how sick and critical she was it added up.

About Larkspur
Larkspur (Lark) is the sweetest dog who makes friends wherever she goes and has at least three random people in the neighborhood who bring her treats. She wants to be friends with everyone and everything. Her name was picked after the flower of the same name; Larkspur means open heart. She cuddles with me every night and does have a single mean bone in her body. She had a tough start to life, being picked up off the streets severely underweight and pregnant with 12 puppies. Judging by how confused she was with the idea of a house they suspect she'd lived on the streets her entire life, and yet she is still somehow the gentlest thing. I want to get her the best care I can and give her a long full life.

Diagnosis/Treatment
They originally thought that she had HGE but when she wasn't getting better fast enough on fluid IVs and blood started distending her abdomen, they did more tests and realized she was anaphylactic. She needed a blood transfusion along with all her IVs. The vet is "cautiously optimistic" since she's improving on the iv and thinks the blood transfusion will hurry recovery along but she isn't out of the woods until 24 hours. We still have zero idea what she could be having a reaction to, but it could be something as simple as a spider bite.

Goals/Where the Money Goes
The amount I'm asking for is the cost of the emergency vet visit. This already had to be paid on my dad's card and my credit card which doesn't have a high enough max credit to keep doing this. My only source of income is my disability which is less than a quarter of that a month. I don't want to overburden my family by asking too much from them so I'm hoping to raise enough to at least make a dent in the bills.

Cost Breakdowns
Breakdown according to the estimates last night, so numbers aren't exactly correct but the approximations I had. Costs are Low End / High End

Total Cost So Far: $4,240.50

ER Visit - $4,240.25
  • Hospitalization (High level care at ER, 1 night): $520
  • Tests : $224 / $584
  • IV and other meds: $1,409 / $1,609
  • Plasma Transfusion: $800 / $1,458.25
  • Potential additional charges: $300 / $500

Vet Care - $?
So far the vet has not given me an estimate or asked for a deposit, so I'm really unsure what the cost will be. She shouldn't need another plasma transfusion but she's still on an iv and taking some meds which will be sent home with her to continue

Thanks!
