Update: You can read below for a background on Kait and Tom's story, unfortunately Friday turned into the night no expecting parents want to hear, Kait was told she would need to delivery Wilder at only 20 weeks 6 days with no chance of survival. Your donation now would be going to help with lost wages, after life care and hopefully eventually moving forward in the journey to become parents. No parent should have to go through what Kaitlyn and Thomas are going through and anything that has been donated and going forward will help take some of the financial burden off them. Even if it's a prayer for them everything is appreciated.
When they say it takes and army to raise a baby they really mean it, but for Kait and Tom they never thought it would take so much before their sweet boy has even arrived. Kait and Tom have always had a dream a dream of becoming mom and dad and finally after many tears, multiple rounds of IVF, way to many negative pregnancy test and an unbelievable amount of dollars their dream has come true. Kaitlyn is carrying their amazing beautiful little boy. When they finally started to believe the dream was true they went in to get their ultrasound photos for their gender reveal they had been planning they received some nerve-racking news. The ultrasound tech told them that she believed to have seen a spot on the baby spine and that she would need need to be seen by her high risk doctor immediately to determine what the spot could be. They later received the news that their sweet little boy was diagnosed with myelomeningocele spina bifida with hydrocephalus in his brain. kaitlyn was told that she would be referred to Philadelphia so that she could receive fetal surgery to close the baby spine giving the baby the best chance of a normal life. Kaitlyn and Tom have been planning the next few months trying to figure out how to afford and get by to continue this dream. Kait is scheduled to go in two weeks for her initial appointment that it will be costing her over $3000. That's after her insurance is billed. Most parents at this time are celebrating and getting a nursery ready and planning a baby shower and just enjoying being pregnant. This is not the case for these two that deserve to be called mom and dad more than anyone I know. Both of them are too proud to ask for help so I am asking you for any little help you may be able to provide every penny will help them and they're a little boy. Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you can share, that would be greatly appreciated. This is just the beginning for Kait and Tom. They will have large hospital bills, many trips and stays in Philadelphia. The baby, most likely will need to stay in the Nicu in Philly once he is born for an unknown amount of time please keep this whole family in your prayers as we continue to patiently wait for Baby boys surgeries, and arrival arrival.
