Hello! My name is Alecia, and I am raising funds for my boyfriend, Kai, to finally feel at home within himself.

A little about Kai:

He is the kind of person who is effortlessly charismatic and brings light to a room without demanding it. He has a purpose in being deeply empathetic, whether that means cooking a good meal or telling someone to have a good day—not out of habit, but because he wants to. He is never short of lending a hand, randomly speaking in terribly funny accents, or just being there because he knows what it is like to be an outcast.

As someone who is a part of a marginalized community, there are many significant systemic, economic, and social barriers endured every day.

The trans community routinely battles discrimination in housing, hiring, and basic healthcare. This is an issue no one deserves to experience. I believe achieving true equality means addressing the economic hardships, social stigma, and safety risks faced every day.

Everyone deserves to look at themselves and see a future they want to be a part of. To not feel truly connected within is difficult.

Transitioning can be lifesaving, and just like everyone else, Kai deserves to wake up and not have to second-guess his safety in the world and to look in the mirror and feel like himself.
