Hi everyone,
I rescued my sweet kitten Kai from a shelter in August 2025. Kai was recently diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) — a fatal disease that affects young cats.
FIP happens when a common feline coronavirus mutates inside a cat’s body and begins attacking their immune system. It can cause fluid buildup in the abdomen or chest (wet FIP) or affect the brain, eyes, and organs (dry FIP). Without treatment, FIP is devastating and progresses quickly.
Just within the past few years, FIP was considered a death sentence. But now, there is hope.
There is an antiviral treatment called GS-441524 that has shown a very high success rate in curing FIP when started early and given consistently for 84 days. It is not yet widely available through traditional veterinary channels in many areas, and it is very expensive.
Treatment requires:
• Daily medication for 12 weeks
• Frequent vet visits and bloodwork
• Careful monitoring
• Supportive medications
He is still a baby. He deserves the chance to grow up and live the long life he was meant to have.
We are asking for help covering:
• Medication costs
• Lab work and vet visits
• Supportive care
Any donation — no matter how small — means the world to me. If you can’t donate, sharing this page helps more than you know.
We are ready to fight for him. We just need help making it possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting my little fighter.
I unfortunately cannot afford this. If I don’t follow through with treatment I would have to euthanize him.
