Kaimani is my nephew, and recently he experienced something no one could ever prepare for. While out in the water with friends, they discovered a shark trapped in a net. Kaimani, always caring and brave, helped set the shark free. In a tragic twist, the shark bit him in the thigh, leaving his leg severely injured. Despite the pain and danger, Kaimani managed to get himself to shore and tie a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, saving his own life. His two friends were right there with him, and their quick actions helped get him to the rescue team in time, making all the difference in those critical moments. He then endured a long journey to meet the rescue team and finally reach the hospital, where surgeons worked tirelessly to save his leg and his life.

Now, Kaimani faces a long road to recovery. His job is physically demanding, and he won’t be able to work for some time, which means he has no income to cover his medical bills or everyday living expenses. The costs of surgery, hospital care, and the physical therapy he’ll need to walk again are overwhelming for our family.
