Hello everyone. This is Brandy, Kailey Brownlee's mother. Last night, Kailey was out with her cousin Noel and his wife Shy just having fun and enjoying the day when tragedy struck. The side-by-side they were in flipped while turning. When it flipped, all occupants flipped towards Kailey's side, and the side-by-side landed on Kailey's leg.

Kailey is at MUSC right now with a very bad broken foot and what is called Compartment Syndrome. Compartment Syndrome of the foot is a condition where pressure builds up inside the foot's muscle compartments, potentially causing damage to nerves, blood vessels, and muscles. It can be caused by injuries, like fractures or crush injuries, or by overuse, like in exertional compartment syndrome. Early diagnosis and treatment, usually surgical, are crucial to prevent permanent damage. Doctors are concerned the pressure is so bad that she isn't getting adequate blood flow to her foot and all the nerves, muscles, and vessels. In two weeks, they have to go back in and reset her foot with a plate and screws.

This leaves Kailey out of work and in a financial hardship for herself & Hudson Lee for at least 3 months, if not longer, depending on the outcome of the Compartment Syndrome. Kailey had an interview at Roper Hospital at 10:00 am this morning that she clearly wont be making. She also did DoorDash and helped at the bakery. We are asking if anyone can find it within them to help just maintain until everyone can figure things out. We are unsure exactly about medical expenses, but her car payment, car insurance, phone, Hudson's needs, and storage are her main concerns.

Please say prayers for her so we can get the best outcome with this very long road ahead of us. Our family is so very grateful for any help anyone can manage.
