UPDATE: Kailen was diagnosed with choriocarcinoma in May 2024. It is a very rare and very aggressive cancer. She was sent to Cleveland Clinic main campus for all of her treatment. She finished chemo and radiation on December 23, 2024. At this time everyone thought she was in remission. She did lose her hearing from the chemo drugs, so she did just get hearing aids. Most of January she was still nauseous on and off. So early February she was sent for fluids and more scans, including a pet scan. At that time they found that the cancer had came back in her brain. She had multiple tumors that were swollen and bleeding causing the nausea and other syptoms. They did several rounds of radiation (gamma knife) on each spot. Her last radiation was on March 6, 2025. At that time they thought they treated all of them. Then she was sick last week so they wanted her to come into the cancer center in Cleveland to get fluids on Thursday, March 20, 2025. During this visit she started to have stroke like symptoms with slurred speech and a droopy face. They rushed her to ER. Once again, the scans found multiple tumors that were swollen and bleeding, which were causing the stroke like symptoms. They admitted her. Later that evening she went to have another MRI and had a siezure due to all the swollen and pressure from the tumors. They hooked her up to an EEG, which are multiple patches on her head to monitor her brain waves. During the scan, they also found that the cancer was in her spinal fluids now. So Friday, March 21, 2025, they did a spinal tap with chemo therapy. Then in a few weeks they are going to do full brain radiation for 10 days.
Kailen Wilson was diagnosed with choriocarcinoma, a very rare and aggressive cancer, on May 25, 2024. She has a mass on her uterus that has spread to her lungs and brain. She has already started chemo and has had radiation on the spots found on her brain. She will have to continue chemotherapy weekly for 24 weeks. After spending 2 1/2 weeks at the Cleveland Clinic, with her husband, Clay, by her side the entire time, she will be coming home soon to her 3-month-old son, Luka, and her almost 3-year-old daughter, Lindy.
Many people have asked how they can help and where they could donate. This fundraiser is for anyone that feels inclined to help, and will be used for medical expenses and the many travels she has to and from the hospital over the next several months. Please continue to pray for her health and her family. We appreciate all of your prayers and support.
