My son Kaidyn Carter was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, along with other complications. Since he was just 6 months old, Kaidyn has undergone multiple procedures and surgeries. Despite all he’s been through, he’s now a thriving 3-year-old, full of energy and hope. However, our journey isn’t over yet because Kaidyn still needs two more major procedures, with the next one scheduled for December 1 and another surgery in the spring.
As a stay-at-home mom, I do everything I can for my children, but things have become even more challenging since I lost the insurance coverage we once had. We travel all the way from Florida to California for Kaidyn’s procedures, which adds up quickly with travel and medical bills. On top of caring for Kaidyn, I also have three other children who need me. For one of my children, I travel back and forth to Houston because of a custody agreement, which adds another layer of travel and expense. It’s overwhelming at times, but I am determined to do whatever it takes for my family.
I truly hate asking for help, but sometimes you need it, especially when it comes to your children. Any support, no matter how small, will help us cover the costs of Kaidyn’s care and keep our family going during this difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and generosity. ❤️
